Partnering with a content owner, a service provider and a technology vendor, Peak Signal prepared a proof of concept to identify key concepts and considerations when creating streaming linear television experiences from a video-on-demand content archive.

THE CHALLENGE

All participants in the proof of concept wanted to further understand the commercial, technical and operational implications of using software defined Virtual Channel (rather than cloud playout) approaches to deliver FAST services.

THE SOLUTION

Peak Signal defined the scope of a time-boxed investigation to explore barriers to launching FAST services for content owners, and to explore themes such as programmatic scheduling and creating linear experiences using OTT VOD archives.
